All-on-X Full-Arch Implants
A full set of teeth. Fixed in place. Care from start to finish.
All-on-X replaces an entire arch of failing or missing teeth with a permanent, natural-looking prosthesis supported by as few as four dental implants. Dr. Jackson provides All-on-X care from start to finish — extractions, bone recontouring, bone grafting with PRF, implant placement, and the final zirconia prosthesis. With our Yomi robot, our Instarisa facial scanner, and our in-house digital lab, we deliver this life-changing procedure with a level of precision and coordination we are genuinely proud of.
Who this is for
Is All-on-X right for you?
All-on-X is designed for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth in one or both arches — or who are facing the loss of remaining teeth due to advanced gum disease, decay, or failed dental work. It is also a transformative option for patients who have been struggling with traditional dentures and are tired of the slipping, the adhesives, the diet restrictions, and the facial changes that come with bone loss over time.
If any of the following sound familiar, All-on-X may be worth a conversation:
- You are wearing dentures and want them to feel like real teeth again
- Several of your teeth are failing and you are weighing whether to keep fighting for them or start fresh
- You have been told you need a full-mouth restoration but do not know where to begin
- You have been quoted for individual implants for every missing tooth and want to understand a more efficient option
- You have avoided smiling, eating in public, or speaking confidently for years
There is no pressure and no judgment in our office. We have cared for patients across the full range of these situations, and the consultation is simply a conversation about what is possible.
What it means
Understanding the procedure
The "X" in All-on-X stands for the number of implants used to support the prosthesis — typically four, six, or sometimes eight. The principle is the same in each case: a small number of strategically placed implants serve as anchors for a full arch of fixed teeth. You do not need one implant per tooth. The prosthesis itself is a single, custom-designed unit that attaches to the implants and stays in place permanently.
This is fundamentally different from a traditional denture. A denture rests on your gums, relies on suction or adhesives, and shifts when you eat or talk. An All-on-X prosthesis is anchored to your jawbone through the implants — meaning it does not move, you do not remove it nightly, and you can eat normally again. It looks, feels, and functions like natural teeth.
Why fewer implants work: Modern implant care uses careful angulation and strategic positioning to maximize bone contact and load distribution. The implants are typically tilted at the rear of the arch to anchor into denser bone, which is why four well-placed implants can reliably support a full arch — a principle confirmed by decades of clinical research.
Our approach
Why All-on-X at Jackson Dentistry
All-on-X is offered at many practices, but the way it is delivered varies. Several things distinguish our approach:
Point 1
Care from start to finish.
Dr. Jackson provides every aspect of All-on-X care personally — the extractions, the bone recontouring, the bone grafting with PRF, the implant placement, and the design and delivery of the final zirconia prosthesis. The same team that plans your case provides the surgical care and designs your final smile. The continuity matters to the predictability and quality of the outcome.
Point 2
Robotic-guided implant placement.
With Yomi, every implant is placed at the position the digital plan calls for — with sub-millimeter accuracy and real-time tracking. For All-on-X, where four to six implants must work together as a coordinated foundation, that precision compounds.
Point 3
Facially-driven design.
We use the Instarisa 3D facial scanner to design your final teeth in the context of your face — tooth length, lip support, smile width, midline, and how the smile frames your features. The final All-on-X prosthesis is not just a set of teeth; it is the way your face looks for the rest of your life. Designing with the face in view from the very beginning produces a result that looks natural in the way smiles are supposed to look natural.
Point 4
In-house digital lab — next-day provisional teeth.
We design and produce the provisional prosthesis in-house using Exocad software and dental 3D printers. You return the day after your procedure and leave with a fixed, natural-looking set of teeth. We are working toward the goal of same-day provisionals in the next two years.
The journey
What the journey looks like
Every case is unique, but most All-on-X journeys follow this general arc:
- 1
Phase 1
Consultation and 3D imaging (Day 1)
We discuss your goals, examine your mouth, capture a CBCT 3D scan, and review your medical history. Dr. Jackson is typically able to determine whether All-on-X is right for you during this consultation. Before you leave, you will have a clear understanding of the cost and timeline of your care. No decisions are required at this visit.
- 2
Phase 2
Records and digital planning (1–3 weeks)
For patients ready to proceed, we capture intraoral scans, bite registration, and Instarisa 3D facial scans at a follow-up visit. Using all of this data, we design your final smile first — tooth shape, position, length, and bite — and then plan the implant positions backward from that result. You will see and approve the plan before any procedure begins.
- 3
Phase 3
Procedure day
Any failing teeth are removed, the bone is recontoured as needed, bone grafting with PRF is performed where appropriate, and the implants are placed using Yomi-guided robotic placement. While you rest at home, our in-house lab finalizes your provisional prosthesis using your post-procedure scan data.
- 4
Phase 4
Provisional placement (the next day)
You return the day after your procedure and your provisional prosthesis is attached. From this point on, you have a complete, fixed set of teeth — designed to look natural and function comfortably while your implants heal.
- 5
Phase 5
Healing (3–6 months)
Your implants integrate with your jawbone during this period. You wear and function with your provisional prosthesis throughout — eating, speaking, and smiling normally — while the foundation strengthens.
- 6
Phase 6
Final prosthesis (after healing)
Once healing is complete, we design and place your final zirconia prosthesis — built to your bite and your appearance. This is the smile you will have for the long term.
Your final teeth
The final prosthesis
For the final prosthesis, we use zirconia — a strong, naturally beautiful ceramic material that captures the appearance of natural teeth and holds up exceptionally well over time.
The final design accounts for tooth shape, color, length, the visible amount of "gum" when you smile, the way your lips frame your teeth, and how the prosthesis supports your facial features. Both Dr. Jackson and Dr. Romine bring their respective expertise to designing a smile that looks like you, not like a generic set of denture teeth.
After treatment
What to expect long-term
Most patients describe All-on-X as life-changing — not in a marketing-pitch way, but in concrete daily ways. You can eat what you want. You can smile in photos without thinking about it. You can speak without worrying about a denture clicking or shifting. You stop avoiding situations you have been quietly avoiding for years.
Daily care is straightforward
- Brush twice daily, just like natural teeth
- Use a water flosser to clean around and under the prosthesis
- Come in for professional cleanings every 3–6 months (we use specialized instruments to clean around the implants)
- Avoid extremely hard items that could damage any natural tooth — ice, popcorn kernels, unshelled nuts
What to expect physically
- An adjustment period of a few days to a few weeks for speech and eating once your provisional teeth are in place
- Mild swelling and soreness in the first week after the procedure
- Most patients return to normal activities within a few days
- Prescription pain management is typically only needed briefly
Long-term outlook: Implants themselves have very high long-term success rates when placed properly and maintained well. The prosthesis itself may need maintenance or replacement after many years of use — like any heavily used dental restoration — but the underlying implant foundation is built to last.
Investment
What All-on-X costs
We do not list a fixed price for All-on-X because every case is different — single arch versus double arch, the condition of remaining teeth, whether bone grafting is needed, and other factors all affect the investment. What we can tell you is that you will leave your consultation with a clear understanding of the cost of your care, with every procedure itemized.
Financing options we offer:
- CareCredit — healthcare financing with multiple payment plan options, including extended terms for larger cases
- In-house Membership Savings Plan — for patients without dental insurance, providing reduced fees on procedures
- Insurance coordination — for patients with dental insurance, we provide a complimentary benefits check and help you understand what your plan is likely to cover
We will walk through all of this transparently at your consultation. Many patients find the total investment, when compared to years of repeated dental care or the lifetime cost of dentures and their associated problems, is more reasonable than they initially expect.
Patient stories
Hear from our All-on-X patients
When a procedure has the potential to change someone's life, the most honest way to understand it is to listen to the people who have been through it. Below, two of our patients share their experiences in their own words.
Frequently asked
Common questions about All-on-X
Will it hurt?
The procedure itself is performed under local anesthesia and, depending on your case and preferences, oral sedation. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the procedure is. Post-procedure discomfort is typically mild and manageable with prescription pain medication for the first few days.
How soon can I eat?
The day of your procedure and the first few weeks call for a soft-food diet to let the surgical sites heal properly, even after your provisional prosthesis is placed. Most patients progress to a more normal diet over the following weeks. Once your implants have fully healed and your final prosthesis is in place, you can eat virtually anything — steak, apples, corn on the cob — comfortably.
Will my teeth look natural?
Yes. Modern All-on-X prostheses, designed with the face in view using the Instarisa facial scanner and produced from zirconia, look and feel like natural teeth. Most people who meet you afterward have no idea you have had any dental work.
When do I receive the provisional teeth?
Currently, our workflow delivers the provisional prosthesis the day after your procedure. The next-day timing allows us to use post-procedure data to finalize the provisional design — ensuring the fit is accurate and the result reflects your actual anatomy. We are working toward the goal of same-day provisionals in the next two years.
What if an implant fails?
Implant failure is uncommon — overall implant success rates are very high — but it can occasionally occur. With four to six implants supporting an arch, the prosthesis can typically remain functional even if one implant requires attention. We monitor every case carefully and address issues promptly when they arise.
How is this different from a traditional denture?
A denture rests on your gums and is removable. An All-on-X prosthesis is anchored into your jawbone through implants and stays in place permanently. The difference in feel, function, and confidence is significant — most patients who switch from dentures to All-on-X describe it as transformative.
How long will the whole process take?
From consultation to final prosthesis, most cases span six to nine months. The active treatment time is much shorter — the procedure itself is typically completed in a single day, with the rest being healing and final restoration.
Am I too old for All-on-X?
Age itself is rarely a barrier. Many of our All-on-X patients are in their 60s, 70s, and beyond. What matters is your overall health, bone status, and ability to undergo the procedure — all things we evaluate at your consultation.
What if I do not have enough bone?
Bone loss is common in patients who have been missing teeth for a while, but it is usually addressable. We routinely use bone grafting and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) to rebuild bone where needed, often as part of the same treatment sequence. Dr. Jackson has successfully treated many patients who had been told elsewhere that they had insufficient bone for dental implants.
Let us talk about whether All-on-X is right for you.
The first step is a consultation and 3D scan. There is no commitment, no pressure, and no rushed decisions. We will walk through your options honestly, and you will leave with a clear understanding of your treatment plan and the cost of your care.
